What happens now?
You will be sent a letter (either by email or by post if you don't have an email address).
The letter will outline the information that you are required to send back to us, as follows:
- A copy of your photo ID - this can be a drivers license, passport or + 18 card.
- Your bank account details for payment.
- Confirmation of your IRD number and that you authorise us to act on your behalf for all of your tax matters until further notice.
Once this letter has been returned we will process your tax refund for the previous 5 years.
If you have a refund we will pay this directly to your account in approximately 4 weeks after we recieve the information from you. IRD take approxmately 4 weeks to complete this process.
